The Great River Roll and Superweek

July 24, 2004
The weather came through with a beautiful morning for racing in Minneapolis. This year's Great River Roll had a slightly different course. Due to bridge construction, (my theory, not proven) there were none of those great scenic views and wild turns over the Mississippi River. However the additional long hill near the half way point added to the challenge and made Rainbo members once again thank the gods of sears for our training site.

Cale will officially leave my age category the day AFTER the race on Saturday, but on Friday night we sang Happy Birthday.

See me back in there? You can almost hear Margo asking me, "Why are you standing in front of me?" "Visualizing winning," I think I told her.

No matter what, make it over the line anyway you know how! Chuck knows that if he had the camera, my moments later in the day where much more embarrassing.
